We’re Not Dead

Althought it sure is nice of you all to notice our sudden silence. Nothing’s really wrong, just some system instability problems – now solved and a sudden shortness of time in each of my days. I don’t think much of interest happens in my life but after not writing for a few months I find all sorts of great material.

Around the end of March, I completed my NCIDQ exam with results to follow in July. I found having free time a problem so I took a lighting engneering class for a couple of months during my off hours. My 18 month project is nearly wrapped up and simultaniously, Paul’s work has gotten busier with many active projects. The best news is, I found out last week that I PASSED – yeah!

Roe was doing better and able to go on walks outside again – as well as play with his cong.

Joe found a good job and if quickly making friends. Towards the end of May he met a girl that he has become good friends with as well. I have only once gotten my brother and my dog’s named mixed up. After four months, I think that’s pretty good.

We’ve tried to spend more time at the beach. Recently, we were taking a stroll and saw a bannana being filmed giving birth along side the boardwalk.

We spent some time in ealry May in Mexico with Kim & Shawn. It was a wonderful trip. We had some spanish tapas and then hit a Padres game for my birthday.

Paul went to Oaklahoma for his nephews birthday and to see his family. I went to Chicago for work and enjoyed some wonderful architectural tours and tiem at Neocon.

Next week, all of us head to Anchorage for a week long reunion with the whole family. It’s light over 20 hours a day right now so we should be able to cram a lot of fun and excittment into the week.

Innovation – On the Rise

There are many things I find fascinating lately. I’ve taken to browsing articles in popular mechanics and wired. At the rate we’re going, the next 30 years could be incredibly exciting – or as disappointing as my honda that does not fly yet sitting in the garage. These stories have me so consumed – I am telling everyone about them. The contractors think I am a little weird but one very wise client reminded me about Atlas Shrugged and the problems that occur when one man’s inventive nature collides with consumerism and commerce. Here’s to all those innovators out their – may they continue to do what they do best.
