It’s a great time for videogames. There’s a mess of games out there that are all high quality and has the potential to take up hours of your time. Here’s my list of games I won’t be playing, games I want to play but don’t have time, and games I’ve already played.
Never Playing:
- Little Big Planet – Don’t own a PS3 and don’t intend to
- Star Wars: Force Unleashed – I already saw the cutscenes on YouTube, which is the best part
- WoW: Wrath of the Lich King – I’ve never played World of Warcraft, not gonna start now
- Resistance 2 - See Little Big Planet
- Guitar Hero: World Tour – Rock Band 2 says hi!
No Time to Play:
- Mirror’s Edge – Looks awesome, heard combat is a weak point
- Warhammer: Age of Reckoning: If I was to pick up a muhmorperger this would be it
- Endwar – A console RTS that works? Yes, please.
- Gears of War 2 – Probably the biggest game of the year
- Saints Row 2 – Like GTA, but cartoony and explody and fun
- Far Cry 2 – Nothing to do with Crytek, but a good game
- Dead Space – Unique IP tries to bring some System Shock love
- Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise – Update to a great game
Now Playing:
- Fable 2 – Everything that Fable 1 wanted to be
- Fallout 3 – I’m a wasteland warrior!
- Left 4 Dead – This may be my Counterstrike
- Spore – An excellent introduction to videogames
- Banjo Kazooie: N&B – More on this in a later post
Fallout 3 has been on everyday since we bought it. Gears of War 2 and Saints Row 2 will probably be added to our collection in December.
Lego Batman and Viva Pinata–You should see Ada play Lego Batman! I’m so proud
We will also pick up the new Animal Crossing. You know, for Ada.
Oooh, I forgot Viva Pinata: TiP. Good Call. Stay tuned for my Banjo Kazooie post later today (gotta make a quick Fry’s run now). I think it’s a game you guys will dig since you like VP.
My play schedule looks something like this:
Company of Heroes – This game is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I’m about half way through, and I’m digging it.
Left 4 Dead – I haven’t made this purchase yet, but I will shortly. Do we have any plans for some online multiplayer?
Half Life 2: Ep1 – Something light to play during the Christmas rush.
Wrath of the Lich King – Sam and Tom have already jumped in. I figure I’ll join them sometime in January. The plan is for all of us to play Warhammer next summer. You should consider joining our posse.
Left 4 Dead is a definite for me. Are we playing on PC or Xbox?
I am pretty far into the single player campaign for Gears of War 2, and I am loving it. Same awesomeness as before with the cover and the shooty. A more open and alive feel to the levels pulls me in somethin’ fierce.
Left 4 Dead is a PC purchase for me. Valve is always good for post-release support and on the PC it’ll be free. Also it’s an FPS and I’ve still got mouse and kbd preference.
